East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Millersville received four wins from its freshmen, but East Stroudsburg won five of the nine contested bouts and was assisted by a forfeit at 141 pounds in a 26-17 PSAC dual win over the Marauders.

Millersville (6-5, 1-4 PSAC) had wrestled with a full lineup all season but did not have a wrestler at 141 pounds Thursday night. The forfeit gave the Warriors six points that virtually clinched the win. The dual started at 174 pounds, and East Stroudsburg built a commanding 17-0 lead with a major decision and two tech falls in the first three matches. Freshman 285-pounder David Wuestner gave ESU junior Tyson Searer, the Super Region 1 No. 4-ranked wrestler, quite a challenge. Searer, however, held on for a 6-4 decision.

Millersville's first win in the dual came from freshman Alex Baider at 125 pounds. Baider trailed 4-3 with time ticking away but hit a takedown with seven seconds left that not only gave him a one point lead, it also wiped out Anthony Marino's riding time advantage.

Trailing 26-3, Millersville won the final three matches of the night. Nico Demetrio boosted his record to 14-10 with the first major decision of his career by beating Eric Januskiewicz, 113. At 157 pounds, freshman Shane Ruhnke scored his 10th pin of the season, He pinned Christian Silva at the 4:35 mark, improving to 21-6 on the season. Ian Shannon remained unbeaten in dual action at 11-0 and increased his season win total to a team-high 23 with a 9-0 major decision over Ardis Smith.

Shannon has incredibly not allowed a point to be scored against him in each of the last three matches and in each of his last five wins.

Millersville hosts West Liberty and nationally-ranked Mercyhurst at Pucillo Gymnasium on Feb. 6.
