
USGA’s Dan Burton to Speak at Lady Marauder Golf Tournament

Millersville, Pa. - First vice-president of the United States Golf Association (USGA), Daniel Burton, will speak at the 9th annual Lady Marauder Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept.18. The event will be held at the Conestoga Country Club in Lancaster.
This interactive fundraiser event will include prizes, raffle drawings, a silent auction and an address from Lancaster's personal golf idol, Daniel Burton. There are also nine sponsorship levels available ranging from a Driving Range Sponsor to Platinum/Event Sponsor. All proceeds will benefit the women's basketball team's student-athlete scholarship program.
Currently, Burton is a managing director for RBC Capital Markets, where he manages public finance in the Mid-Atlantic region. He is championship chair of USGA's Competition Committee. As part of Burton's responsibilities as chair he is the tournament director of the U.S. Men's and Women's Opens, the Men's and Women's Amateur Championships, and the U.S. Senior Open. He will be involved with the Women's Open when it comes to Lancaster next year.
Previously, he was a member of the Golf Association of Philadelphia's Executive Committee from 1997 to 2008, serving as president for the final three years of his tenure. He completed 21 years of service as a member of the board of trustees of Franklin & Marshall College in 2012, and was the vice chair from 2006 to 2012.
Over the years Burton has had a successful golf career. He was a member of the golf team and was named captain and MVP in 1970 and 1971 while at the University of South Florida. He was the Pennsylvania Mid-Amateur champion in 1994 and the Pennsylvania Senior Tournament champion in 2004.
