Marauders Suffer Road Defeat at Lock Haven

Lock Haven, Pa. - The Millersville volleyball team was on the road Saturday afternoon at Lock Haven and fell to the Bald Eagles in straight sets inside Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Marauders (9-14, 3-12 PSAC) have now dropped six straight overall and seven on the road while Lock Haven (15-8, 9-6 PSAC) has taken three of its last four and is 9-1 at home this season. Millersville's offense has hit a cold streak with an attacking percentage of .100 or below in its last five matches.
The Bald Eagles opened the match with a .268 hitting percentage in the first set that included 17 kills and six errors on 41 total attacks. The visitors answered that with a clip of just -.154. The Marauders' offense came to life a bit in the second set (.051) but Lock Haven still hit well (.170) and was up two sets to none. Millersville registered an attacking percentage of .172 in the third set but the Bald Eagles were simply too much to handle as they hit a red-hot .500 in the third stanza with 17 kills and only one error on 32 swings.
Katie Lesinski and Kayla Wallace led the offense in kills with six apiece while Victoria Biggins tallied 15 assists. Defensively, two Marauders registered double-digit digs including Brooklyn Smith (22) and Erin Harman (11). Above the net, Mary Paul assisted on three block attempts.
Next up on Oct. 22, Millersville is at Elizabethtown for its final nonconference match of the season. Wednesday's action is set to start at 7 p.m.
