Newville, Pa. - The Millersville women's cross country team competed in the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational Saturday afternoon. Shannon Cruz finished first for the Marauders in the women's 4K. It was a statement race for Elizabeth Reese as she returned from injury and was the first Marauder to finish in the 6K. The team finished fifth out of 19 teams in the short race and 11th out of 21 in the long race.

Cruz finished with a time of 14:53.9 which was good for sixth overall out of 144 runners in the 4K. Megan Meyer finished next for the Marauders at 23rd overall with a time of 15:44.6. Abigail Daley was the next to finish for Millersville with a time of 16:08.2 at 38th overall.

Reese, a sophomore from Littlestown, Pa. finished 62nd out of 164 runners with a time of 26:04.6 in the long race. Right behind her was freshman Taylour Mauro, who finished in 65th overall at 26:09.7. Megan O'Neill rounded out the scoring for the Black and Gold with a time of 26:11.7 and a 68th-place finish overall.

Millersville was the only PSAC team to run in the long race while Shippensburg represented the conference with the Marauders in the short race.

Millersville's next event is the Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 5.
