Bethlehem, Pa. - The Millersville women's cross country team ran in the 40th annual Paul Short Invitational Saturday afternoon at Lehigh University. Three runners set 6K personal bests, and Shannon Cruz was the first Marauder to finish for the fourth consecutive race.
Cruz crossed the finish line first for Millersville in 31st place out of 365 total runners with a time of 22:40. That marks a personal best for the freshman from Lancaster. The next Marauder to finish was captain Megan Meyer in 156th place with a time of 24:19. Elizabeth Reese was right behind her and completed the race in 163rd place with a time of 24:23. Abigail Daley was the fourth to score for the Marauders finishing in 203rd overall with a personal-record time of 25:08. Megan O'Neill rounded out the scoring for Millersville with a personal-best time of 25:35 in 228th place.
The team finished in 27th out of 45 teams after finishing 36th out of 38 teams last season.
The Marauders are off for two weeks before they will compete in the Gettysburg Invitational on Oct. 19.
