
Marauder Golfers Capture Lebanon Valley Invitational Title

Lebanon, Pa. - With three golfers placing in the top five, the Millersville men took first place at the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational Monday afternoon.
Millersville has now won four tournaments in less than a calendar year and two since the start of the 2012-13 season. The Marauders ran away from the competition in Monday's one-round event at the par-72 Lebanon Country Club, firing a 25-over-par 313 total. Runner-up Stevenson placed 13 shots behind, and host Lebanon Valley finished took third.
All four of Millersville's counted scores landed in 11th place or higher, and all five Marauders in the lineup placed no lower than 21st in an 88-player field.
Junior Jonathon Heile and sophomore Conor Gilbert tied for third with 5-over-par rounds of 77. The duo finished just one shot off the pace set by Ryan Laudeman of Elizabethtown.
Newcomer Robby Rowe shot a 78, which placed him fifth. Robert Coyne tied for 11th with a 9-over-par 81. Kevin Davis tied for 21st at 11-over-par.
Millersville now starts its push for a NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional bid. The run begins Sunday, April 7 at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester.
