Cruz Leads Marauders to Fifth-Place Finish at Gettysburg

Gettysburg, Pa. - The Millersville women's cross country team ran well in its final meet of the regular season at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday morning. Shannon Cruz continued her stellar freshman campaign and was the first Marauder to finish while the team placed fifth out of 27 teams.

Cruz crossed the finished line in 13th place out of 276 total runners with a time of 23:25.7. She has finished first for the Marauders in all five of their events this season.

The next runner to finish for Millersville was Megan Meyer in 30th place with a time of 24:07.9. Close behind Meyer was Amanda Long who was clocked at 24:17.9 in 32nd place overall. Two runners later in 34th place came another freshman, Abigail Daley with a new personal-best time of 24:19.2. Rounding out the scoring for Millersville was Elizabeth Reese in 52nd place with a time of 24.43.1.

The Marauders will run in the PSAC Championships on Oct. 26 in Kutztown, Pa.
