
Women's Cross Country Takes Third in Dutchman Invitational

Lebanon, Pa. – After a warm up in the Marauder/F&M Alumni Open last weekend, Millersville's women's cross country team got it's team competitions off to a good start for the season with a third-place team finish in the LVC Dutchman Invitational Saturday morning.
The Marauders clocked in just behind Eastern Mennonite and host school Lebanon Valley. Brittney Martin again led all Millersville runners a week after posting the best women's time in the Alumni Open. Martin finished with a time of 20:05.11, placing eighth overall.
Right behind Martin for the Marauders was Elizabeth Reese, who finished in a time of 20:11.60 to take ninth overall. That time topped her Alumni Open time by nearly 15 seconds. Kaitlin Hild finished in 18th place with a time of 20:45.39 as the third Millersville runner. Hild improved upon her Alumni Open time by nearly 45 seconds.
The other two Marauder runners to score for the team in the Dutchman Invitational were Amanda Long and Sarah Fink. Long, who took ninth among all women runners at the Alumni Open, placed 22nd overall with a time of 21:03.90, improving her previous season-best by over 45 seconds. Fink clocked in at 21:07.97 to claim 24th in the overall standings, shaving more than a full minute off her Alumni Open time.
Next up for the Marauders is the Division II Challenge next Saturday at Kutztown University. The race starts at 11 a.m.
