Kutztown, Pa. – Coming off a third-place finish overall last Saturday at the Dutchman Invitational, the women's cross country team was looking for a strong team finish this Saturday at the Division II Challenge hosted by Kutztown. With the Marauders lacking depth, however, the team finished in seventh out of eight teams with a team score of 177.
Millersville was without both Elizabeth Reese and Kaitlin Hild while trying to navigate the Kutztown University course. Sarah Mulvey did have a strong showing, finishing in eighth place overall with a time of 23:41. Brittney Martin finished the 6K course in a time of 25:15 and placed 29th, but she and Mulvey were the only two Marauders to place in the top 40.
Rounding out Millersville's top five scorers were Sarah Fink, Amanda Long and Mallory Austin. Fink had a 45th-place finish overall with her time of 26:13. Long finished in 47th place, clocking in at a time of 26:49 and Austin rounded out the scoring by finishing in 48th overall. Austin's time was 27:33.
