Kadoch Propels Millersville Past Red Raiders

Box Score Millersville, Pa. - Millersville men's soccer senior forward Matt Kadoch has played in his fair share of Millersville-Shippensburg games, but he had never scored against the Red Raiders--until tonight. The only senior on this year's squad scored the only goal of the game with 14 minutes remaining to propel Millersville past PSAC rival Shippensburg 1-0 Saturday.

Millersville (5-2, 2-0 PSAC) finally got on the board in the 75th minute. Junior Andrew Dukes played a through ball to a flashing Kadoch. Kadoch took a few touches and beat Shippensburg keeper Kevin Hollasch to the lower left corner to net the only goal of the game. Brad Benzing tallied four saves in the match for the Marauders.

Shippensburg (1-4-2, 0-1-1 PSAC) had plenty of opportunities to score with its best opportunity coming with 24 minutes to play. Miscommunication with the Marauder defense allowed Red Raider forward Fred Lucas to receive a wide open pass 12 yards away from the goal. Benzing came way off his line to stop Lucas and prevent Shippensburg from scoring.

Overall, the teams were evenly match with Millersville holding a 16-13 advantage in corners while the Red Raiders led in corner 6-2. Both goalkeepers recorded four saves in the game.

The teams combined for a total of eight yellow cards, four per team, which was the most Millersville has accumulated in a single game so far this season.

With the win the Marauders remain undefeated in PSAC play,  and they will travel to Gannon next Friday, Sept. 28 to take on the Golden Knights. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
