MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -Â The Millersville men's soccer team secured a 1-0 victory in a match celebrating 65 years of program history.
The Marauders brought high energy from the start, controlling the pace of play and maintaining strong ball possession. Juan Ortiz recorded the first shot for Millersville, which was saved by East Stroudsburg's goalkeeper.
The match's lone goal came in the 16th minute when Matias Schmidt took a free kick just outside the box. His shot was blocked and deflected to Haven Thomas, who delivered a one-touch strike into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
Millersville carried that momentum through the remainder of the first half, creating several opportunities off corner kicks but failing to convert. The half concluded with the Marauders leading 1–0.
Coming out of the break, Millersville continued to apply pressure with shots from Ortiz and Alex Delavan. East Stroudsburg attempted to respond, but goalkeeper Gavin Massimi remained steady in goal, finishing the day with one save.
For much of the second half, Millersville focused on ball control, with the defense effectively limiting the Warriors' offensive chances. The Marauders maintained their advantage to the final whistle, earning a 1–0 victory.
Millersville returns to action next Wednesday, traveling to face Shepherd in a 1 p.m. matchup.

This is a special program built by special people and it was great to see the pride and joy on every alums face today. We are ever thankful for their support and connection to our program."
