THE STARTING FIVE
(1) The Marauders are enjoying their best start in three years, opening the season 5-0 (3-0 PSAC) for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The team got to its fifth win of the season by defeating No. 16 Bloomsburg on Dec. 8, 62-55. The senior frontcourt tandem of Aurielle Mosley (15-13) and Miesha Cousins (13-13) both registered double-doubles with points and rebounds in the upset win. In the win, Millersville held the PSAC's highest scoring offense to its lowest point total so far this season.

(2) Heading into this pair of games against Gannon and Mercyhurst,  Mosley leads a defensive unit that ranks at the top of the PSAC with 8.0 blocks per game. The senior forward has 18 herself, giving her 197 for her career. That puts her just four blocks away from breaking the school record of 200 blocks in a career, and it is a near lock that she breaks the record at home during these two games. Mosley averages 3.6 blocks per game this season, ranking second in the PSAC. Cracking down on the defensive end of the floor has been the Marauders' true key to their early-season success during the 2012-13 campaign. Millersville also ranks first in opponents' field goal percentage (.310) and fourth in steals per game (12.8) in the PSAC.

(3) In addition to playing defense, the Marauders have been active on the boards this year, reaching 40 or more rebounds in every game this season. The team leads the PSAC in team rebound by more than four rebounds per game over the second-best team Lock Haven. Millersville heads the conference in both offensive and defensive rebounding and has two players (Cousins at No. 3 and Mosley at No. 9) in the top 10 in individual totals. Coincidentally, the team with the widest rebounding margin is Gannon, who enters with a plus-9.7 rebounding margin over opponents.

(4) Millersville-Gannon is a matchup of undefeated division leaders. The Marauders and Golden Knights are the only two teams still undefeated in conference play both at 3-0. Millersville has beaten Lock Haven, Clarion and Bloomsburg, while Gannon has come out on the better end of matchups against Kutztown, East Stroudsburg and Indiana (Pa.). The Golden Knights are led by junior forward Jen Papich, who was the PSAC West Athlet of the Week two weeks ago.

(5) While Mercyhurst's 2-3 record may not stand out, the 2-1 conference mark proves strong. The Lakers have wins in two of their past three, but rank dead-last in rebounding in the PSAC at just 30.0 per game. Mercyhurst has just one player averaging double digit points, with Kaylee Foster pascing the tema at 11.6 points per game.

ABOUT GANNON
Eighth-ranked Gannon enters Pucillo Gymnasium as winners of seven straight games, and the Marauders have never been able to solve head coach Cleve Wright, who is 3-0 all-time against Millersville. Wright is  125-38 (including this year) all-time at Gannon, and has the Golden Knights positioned as the only other team with a 3-0 record in the PSAC this season. The PSAC West-leading Golden Knights possess a balanced offense, headed by the conference's sixth-best scorer, Jen Papich, who averages 14.5 points per game. Papich was the PSAC West Athlete of the Week two weeks ago after the opening PSAC crossover games, when she averaged 20.5 points per game in two games against Kutztown and East Stroudsburg. The visitors rank seventh in offense (71.1 points per game) and fourth in defense (57.4), and can also give Millersville problems on the glass, topping the PSAC in rebounding margin at plus-9.7.

ABOUT MERCYHURST
The Lakers are just 1-4 all-time against Millersville and have never defeated the Marauders in Deanna Richard's tenure as head coach in three meetings. Despite a 2-3 record overall, Mercyhurst does have a 2-1 record in PSAC competition this season and has won two of its past three games. The Lakers' two wins have both come at home, with wins over East Stroudsburg on Dec. 1 (63-49) and Lock Haven on Dec. 8 (69-55). Mercyhurst will play at Shippensburg on Dec. 18 before heading to Pucillo Gymnasium the next day. Kaylee Foster is the only Laker averaging double figures, currently holding an 11.6 point per game scoring pace. Even though the team has the second-worst scoring offense in the PSAC at just 57.4 points per game, the Lakers are a respectable squad defensively, possting a defensive scoring average of just 62.8 points per game for opponents, which is in the middle of the pack in the PSAC at eighth overall.
