THE STARTING FIVE
1)  Millersville got its season started with a 1-0 record in a Nov. 17 win over Wilmington (Del.), 94-56. The team has now started its season with a win in six consecutive years under head coach Mary Fleig. In the game, senior Aurielle Mosley became just the 19th player in women's basketball program history to score 1,000 points for her career.

2)  In addition to scoring her 1,000th-career point in the game against the Wildcats, Mosley added 10 rebounds, seven blocks, two assists and a steal to her stat line. For her all-around performance, the York native was named as the PSAC East Athlete of the Week for the first week of the season. It was the sixth-such award of her Millersville career. Millersville, however, didn't just have Mosley as a Preseason All-PSAC East pick. Teammate and fellow senior Mashira Newman was also named to that team before the year began, and her first game against Wilmington gave every indication that the coaches made a wise decision in choosing her, as she turned in 18 points, seven rebounds, six steals, four assists and two blocks with just one turnover.

3)  The Marauders played very strong defense in the opener, allowing just 56 points on 22.5 percent shooting by Wilmington, and just 11.1 percent shooting from behind the arc. It was the lowest shooting percentage allowed by Millersville since Holy Family scored 51 points on 20.6 percent shooting on Nov. 23, 2010. The three-point percentage was the lowest allowed in a game where the opponent made a three-pointer since Gannon shot 1-14 from deep on Dec. 3 of last year, good for just a 7.1 percent clip.

4)  The season-opener marked the 28th time the team has scored 90+ points under Fleigh, and the 111th time that Millersville has crossed at least the 80+ point barrier in her tenure, and when her teams do, they are virtually unbeatable. Millersville owns a perfect 28-0 mark when scoring 90+ and a 105-6 record when scoring at least 80 points with Fleig as head coach.

5)  In the all-time series between Millersville and Philadelphia, the Marauders have taken 14 of 22 meetings, including the last seven in a row. Before Fleig took the reins prior to the 1990-91 season, the Rams were 5-3 against Millersville. The Marauders, however, have claimed nine of the past 10 matchups, averaging 69.8 points per game while Philadelphia has managed 61.3, good for an 8.5 point-per-game margin of victory in favor of Millersville. The past two meetings have both seen the Marauders win by twin 60-57 scores. Millersville hasn't lost at Philadephia since a 64-61 defeat in the 1994-95 season.
