THE STARTING FIVE
(1)
The Marauders enter this season after a 2011-12 season during which the team compiled a 16-11 overall record and a 13-9 record in the PSAC East. Key returners this season for Millersville are three seniors; Aurielle Mosley, Mashira Newman and Miesha Cousins. Also returning after playing significant minutes last year are juinior Leola Pinkney and sophomore Carly Gallagher.

(2) The team finished third in the final PSAC East standings a year ago. In Mary Fleig's tenure as Marauder head coach, the team has finished lower than third just one time. This year, Millersville was picked to again finish third in its division in the PSAC Preseason Poll, behind just West Chester and Bloomsburg. The Golden Rams received seven first-place votes and the Huskies received the other one.

(3) Senior forward/center Aurielle Mosley enters today's game just 18 points shy of 1,000 for her career. She has averaged 11.7 points per game in her career, and would be the 19th player in program history to reach that landmark. Senior point guard Mashira Newman also enters the year chasing a lofty point total. Already over the 1,000-point plateau (1,082), Newman would need 461 points this season to break the all-time scoring record for a career. That would amount to 17.7 points per game in just the regular season.

(4) Millersville and Wilmington have met five times before Saturday's game, with the Marauders coming out on the winning end in four of those five. After the Wildcats claimed the first-ever meeting in 1993 on their home floor, Millersville has reeled off four straight wins. The Marauders upended Wilmington on its home floor last year by a score of 75-52. The average victory margin for Millersville in its four wins is a stout 34.3 points per game.

(5) The Marauders' season came to an end last year in the PSAC Tournament with a loss at West Chester, 64-57. The Golden Rams kept Mosley (seven points, 11 rebounds) and Newman (eight points, seven assists) in check. Carly Gallagher led the team in scoring with 16 points. Despite the loss, 2011-12 marked the 16th-straight year that the team has made the PSAC Tournament.

THE WILDCATS
The Wildcats enter their first season under the direction of Tiffany Silver, who ascends to the ranks as a head coach after being an assistant coach at Division III Johns Hopkins. There, she helped guide the Blue Jays to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and a 24-5 record. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge working with guards and developing post players on the offensive end of the floor. Silver inherits a team that went 2-22 last season, finishing seventh in the CACC South. Wilmington was picked seventh in its division to start this year after losing 11 letterwinners from a year ago. To alleviate that, the Wildcats' new head coach brought seven new players into the fold. Through two games, this year's edition of Wilmington's women's basketball team is 0-2, with losses to Bridgeport and Molloy in the Bridgeport Tip-Off Classic. The Wildcats are led by Tenicia Spence, who averages 19.5 points per game. Wilmington also has key rebounders in the middle, as both Danielle Thomas and Tashea Plummer have averaged 10.0 rebounds per game through the team's first two contests.
