THE STARTING FIVE
(1) Redshirt junior Mashira Newman enters tonight's game with 983 career points, leaving her just 17 shy of 1,000. Newman has averaged just over 15 points per game over the last six contests. Newman moved into 19th all-time in Millersville histoy with her 983 career points after scoring 14, 12 in the second half, at Mansfield on Saturday. Only 17 players have collected 1,000 points in Millersville women's basketball history. Newman will be facing her former high school teammate Danielle Derr, both attended Upper Dublin.

(2) One season ago the Marauders were the PSAC East preseason favorite and had won nine-straight against the Bloomsburg Huskies. The Huskies surprised the PSAC East by knocking off Millersville twice to capture the PSAC East Title, leaving Marauders in second place. This season, 2011-12, the Bloomsburg Huskies were picked to finish first in the East, with Millersville and West Chester expected to finishing closely behind at second and third respectively. As of  now Bloomsburg and West Chester are tied at 10-4 with Millersville one game behind at 9-5 with two games left against Bloomsburg and one this Saturday at West Chester.

(3) Millersville is coming off of its best week offensively of the season. The Marauders shot 59 percent in the first half against Shippensburg and finished the game shooting 51 percent for a season-high and a 75-60 win. On Saturday at Mansfield, the Marauders shot 50 percent in the second half, including a 25-7 run to open the half, to torch Mansfield 71-59 giving head coach Mary Fleig her 10th-straight win against the Mountaineers.

(4) Redshirt freshman Carly Gallagher will get her first taste of action against her sister Kelsey Gallagher, the 2010-11 PSAC East Player of the Year. Both Carly and Kelsey have missed time this season due to plantar faciitis. Kelsey is second in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (3.7) for the Huskies this season.

(5) Millersville travels to West Chester on Saturday, Feb. 4 for its last regular season meeting against the Golden Rams. The Marauders look to avenge their 61-59 loss to West Chester at home earlier this season.

ABOUT BLOOMSBURG
• The PSAC East preseason favorite Bloomsburg Huskies have had just four hiccups this season, three of which were on the road and three were against nationally ranked opponents.  The Huskies only  home loss, their first loss of the season, came against No. 3 Edinboro by a score of 98-73--the worse loss of the season. Bloomsburg only other three losses came on the road against then undefeated and No. 18 IUP (84-79), No. 20 Gannon (63-53) and just last week at West Chester (79-54).

• Bloomsburg currently sits tied for first place in the PSAC East with West Chester with a 10-4 conference record.  The Huskies are averaging over 73 points per game to rank in the top thre of the conference, while holding opponents to just 64.8 points. Bloomsburg, however, is averaging just 33 rebounds per game for a -6.0 margin. The Huskies rank last in the coference in rebounds per game. Bloomsburg, however is shooting 44 percent from the field as a team.

• Junior guard Dana Wieller has had a breakout season this year for Bloomsburg. Wieller currently ranks third in the conference in scoring with 349 total points, 17.5 per game, which ranks her first on the Huskies' squad. Wieller has picked up some of the slack while senior and reigning PSAC East Player of the Year , Kelsey Gallagher, was sidelined for four-straight games with a foot injury. Gallagher, who returned last week, still ranks in the top six of the PSAC in scoring with 14.8 points per game.

• Head Coach Bill Cleary, in just his fourth season has turned Bloomsburg into a competitive PSAC East team. Cleary, who was 0-4 against Mary Fleig before the 2010-11 season, coached back-to-back upsets against Millersville last season to spoil the Marauders chances at a PSAC East Title. Cleary team has been receiving votes to the Division II Top 25 poll each week, but have yet to break into the poll.
