Winston-Salem, N.C. - Millersville opens its season at Winston-Salem State on Feb. 11, but instead of playing on campus, the Marauders and Rams will play at BB&T Ballpark, which is the home of minor league organization Winston-Salem Dash.
The Dash are the Chicago White Sox Single-A affiliate and members of the Carolina League. The ballpark was voted "Best Ballpark" of 2010 by Ballparks.com. Also, groundskeeper Doug Tanis was recently named Minor League Baseball Sports Turf Manager of the Year in Single-A. The ballpark also plays host to the 2012 California/Carolina League All-Star Game.
The last time Millersville and Winston-Salem State met was also in a minor league park. Millersville defeated the Rams 5-3 in the quarterfinals of the 2011 NCAA Atlantic Regional at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
The teams play doubleheaders on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12. Both doubleheaders start at 1 p.m.
