Lock Haven, Pa. - Elicia Anderson's first race back from a foot injury was a success. The junior knocked off the rust and placed third with a 6K time of 22:17.40 at Saturday's Lock Haven Invitational. Her finish paced the Millersville women to a third-place finish.
Anderson had been unable to fully run until just a week ago and missed Millersville's first two races of the year. On Saturday, her time was just eight seconds off of the first-place pace set by Lock Haven's Lindsey Lambert and two seconds behind Slippery Rock's Stephanie Case.
Along with Rebekah Moore's 12th-place finish and Sarah Mulvey's fourth-place finish, the Marauders finished just behind Lock Haven (37 points) and Slippery Rock (56 points) with a total of 83 points.
Moore posted her best time of the season with a 23:19.70. Mulvey, who was Millersville's top runner last week at Iona, came in at 23:22.20.
Brittany Martin crossed the line with a time of 23:57.60, placing 25th. Michelle Blum and Megan Meyer placed 30th and 31st respectively.
The Marauders have one week to rest before running at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Oct. 8.
