
Marauders Fall to No. 24 Edinboro

Edinboro, Pa. – The No. 24 Fighting Scots scored three unanswered goals in the second half to defeat the Marauders by a score of 4-1 Saturday afternoon.
Edinboro (7-2-1, 5-2-0 PSAC) scored in the 20th minute to open the game with a 1-0 lead. Samantha Kaiser scored her seventh goal of the season on a pass from Karisa Frenandez.
Millersville (4-3-1, 2-3-1 PSAC) responded late in the first half when Allison Snyder scored an unassisted goal to even the score at 1-1 with three minutes till the break.
The Fighting Scots and the Marauders fired 20 shots in the first side with Edinboro having an 11-9 advantage. Millersville's Ashley Matyasich registered four saves in the first while Edinboro's Kate Stukbauer recorded five.
The second half was all Edinboro as it scored three goals in a 10 minute span to pull away with a 4-1 lead and eventual win.
The Fighting Scots outshot the Marauders by a 24-12 margin with 13 shots on goal. Matyasich, playing 73 minutes in the match, recorded a season-high nine saves.
Millersville returns in action on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when it travels to Mansfield. The Marauders and the Mountaineers are slated for a 4 p.m. start time.
