
Ville Volleyball Tripped Twice; Lesinski Named to All-Tournament Team

St. Petersburg, Fla. - Freshman Katie Lesinski landed a spot on the Eckerd College Classic All-Tournament Team, but her Millersville Marauders came up empty at the tournament, dropping two matches on Saturday.
After two losses Friday, the Marauders (4-5) were swept by Palm Beach Atlantic and Eckerd on Saturday. Palm Beach Atlantic (7-1) pulled out a close 25-22 win in the first set an closed out the match 25-13, 25-16.
Millersville lost its fifth consecutive match in a close contest with Eckerd (6-1). The host team won by scores of 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.
Lesinski totaled 17 kills and just seven errors, leading Millersville in kills in both matches. She also racked up 13 digs.
Against Palm Beach Atlantic, the Marauders managed 27 kills but were stifled by the defense. Palm Beach Atlantic limited Millersville to a .115 hititng percentage and tallied 16 blocks.
The Marauders could not bounce back against Eckerd. Ali McAlvany led her team with 12 kills on 17 swings and Kaleigh Humphrey and Taylor Whaley combined for 42 assists.
Millersville stays on the road and visits Shepherd on Sept. 13. Start time is 6 p.m.
