Game 1 | Game 2

Millersville, Pa. - It was a Senior Day to remember for Derek Kline and the Millersville Marauders. The senior out-dueled the NCAA's ERA leader with a complete game shutout and ripped two doubles, sparking the Marauders to a 1-0 game one win over East Strodusburg and the PSAC Eastern Division Championship.

Kline's seven masterful innings was immediately followed by seven more from Brooks Rothschild. Rothschild blanked East Stroudsburg in a complete game effort, allowing just four hits and a walk. Zach Stone homered and senior Ryan McCormick singled home a run to give the Marauders a 2-0 win and the doubleheader sweep.

The division championship is Millersville's second in the last four years. The Marauders will now take the No. 1 seed from the East into the PSAC Tournament. For the 35-8 Marauders, the wins over East Strousdburg (23-14, 9-11 PSAC East), which was ranked third in the region entering the day, solidified their standing atop the NCAA Atlantic Region as well.

In the opener, Kline did the damage on the mound and at the plate. Facing Jerem Gigliotti, who came into the game with a 0.38 ERA and just two earned runs allowed over 47 innings, Kline had to be at his best. And he was. Pitching his last game at Marauder Park, Kline surrendered only two hits and walked one while fanning seven.

At the plate, he doubled in the first, and then doubled again in the fourth. This time, Mike August answered with a double down the third base line that rifled just inside the bag.

The 1-0 lead was enough for Kline, who improved to 6-1 on the season.

Millersville managed four hits off of ESU starter Andy Noga in the nightcap. McCormick's RBI single broke a scoreless tie in the third, and Stone led off the fourth with a solo blast to left center field.

The shutouts were the sixth and seventh of the years for the Marauders. In the last five games, Millersville has held its opponents to a total of three runs.

The Marauders look to complete the series sweep Saturday at East Stroudsburg. First pitch is 1 p.m.
