Men's Golf Slips to Sixth Place Finish

Southport, N.C. - The Millersville men's golf team was third after day one of the St. James Plantation Invitational, but the Marauders faltered on day two and slipped to a sixth place finish.
The Marauders fired a 318 on day one, placing them just 13 shots off the pace set by eventual champion Indiana (Pa.). The second round was a rough one, as they 344--the eighth-highest team score of the day. IUP improved by five shots to take the team crown with a 29-over-par 605. West Chester finished second with a 623 total.
Individually, Matt Dudas fell off the first round lead to finish in a tie for eighth. His second round 83 put him at 12-over-par for the tournament, eight shots behind medalist Brad Boyle of IUP.
Shane Henry tied for 17th after closing with an 86. He finished at 19-over-par for the tournament. Brian Cooper tied for 38th, Chris Fieger tied for 43rd and Jeff Stokes placed 54th. George Trosley, competing as an individual and not toward the team score, took 28th with a score of 23-over-par.
The Marauders being place at the Camp LeJeune Invitational (N.C.) on March 25.
