Domonique Stroman scored a career-high 26 points and
Aurielle Mosley recorded her fifth-straight double-double as the No. 24 Millersville women's basketball team rolled to a 79-49 win at Cheyney's Cope Hall Wednesday evening.
Millersville (17-4, 7-2 PSAC East) showed litle after-effect from Saturday's dissapointing defeat to Bloomsburg. Stroman, the team's lone senior, hit 9-of-12 shots from the field and 7-of-10 from the line to lead all scorers. She narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds. She also tallied five assists and four steals.
Mosley continued to dominate in the low post. With 21 points and 13 rebounds, Mosley posted her third-straight game of at least 20 points and 12 rebounds. Mosley, ranked second in Division II in blocked shots, added three more to her season total.
The Marauders left little doubt, outscoring Cheyney (4-17, 2-7 PSAC East) 14-2 in the first four minutes of the game. They extended the lead to as many as 22 in the first half, and poured in on in the second. Millersville ripped off a 13-2 run to start the second half, building the lead to 30. Mosley's layup with 4:51 left gave the Marauders' their largest lead of the game at 76-41.
The 30-point win came despite committing 30 turnovers. Millersville shot 49.2 percent from the field and hit 5-of-12 from 3-point range. Three of those came from
Jess Beswick, who made her return to the lineup after missing nine games. She totaled 11 points.
Millersville returns to action Saturday at Mansfield. Game time is 1 p.m.
