ABOUT THE GAME
· On Wednesday evening the No. 18 Marauders picked up their sixth-straight conference win and notched their second-consecutive road win for the first time this season when Millersville defeated Shippensburg 75-70.
Aurielle Mosley,
Gabrielle Styles and
Mashira Newman combined for all but 10 of MU's point total. Mosley led all scorers with a career-high 27 points while Styles and Newman each added 19 points. It was a career-high for Styles as well.
· In the contest with the Lady Raiders Mosley, the reigning PSAC East Player of the Week, registered a career-high seven blocks. In less than two years she has jumped up the record books and surpassed Gladine St. Julien (2005-09) for 10th all-time with 80 blocks. She also bumped Tracy Brian's 1989-90 sophomore season block record with 57 so far on the year.
· The Marauders continue to dominate the conference, as well as Division II, in the blocked shots category. Millersville holds the top spot in both the Division as well as the PSAC with an impressive 6.2 blocks per game and117 overall. Mosley leads the conference with her block average of 3.0 per game. She also leads the league in rebounds with 12.6 per game.
· When comparing statistics side by side the Marauders and Bloomsburg look like the perfect match-up. While the Huskies lead the conference in scoring offense with 76.4 points per game, Millersville sits second in scoring defense while limiting its opponents to just 57.3 points per game. MU holds the advantage on the glass, however, out-rebounding its opponents by a +10.9 margin. Bloomsburg averages only 34.7 rebounds per game compared to the Marauders 47.6.
· The Marauders look to extend their six-game win streak and avenge their only conference loss of the season. While Millersville is 10-1 in Pucillo Gymnasium this year, Bloomsburg is 7-2 on the road overall and 3-0 in conference road play. The key to shutting down the Huskies will be the Marauders' hounding defense. The last time these two clubs met Bloomsburg was lights out from behind the arc, knocking down 12 3-pointers and shooting 44.8 percent from the floor.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
· Bloomsburg is coming off of a easy conference win Thursday when the Huskies rolled over East Stroudsburg 99-61. The game was delayed one day due to weather, but Bloomsburg did not let that deter their efforts. Kayla Oxenrider, Dana Wieller, Kelsey Gallagher and Danielle Derr all scored in double figures to pace the Huskies.
· A high-scoring offense all season long, three Bloomsburg players hold double-digit scoring averages. Wieller ranks third in the PSAC with 18.2 points per game, while Gallagher sits eighth with an average of 14.5. Wieller also holds the top spot in the conference for 3-pointers made with 63 on the year.
· Bloomsburg and Millersville opened PSAC Eastern Division play earlier this season at Nelson Field House. The Huskies came away with a 75-58 victory to mark the Marauders' sole conferece loss on the season. Bloomsburg holds an overall record of just 12-20 inside Pucillo Gymnasium and hasn't won at Millersville since the 2003-04 season.
