Anderson's Sixth-Place Finish Leads Marauders at Regional

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Junior Elicia Anderson placed sixth in a field of 169 runners at Saturday's NCAA Atlantic Regional in Slippery Rock. Anderson's finish led the women's cross country team to 13th.

It is the second time in as many years that Anderson placed in the top 10 at the regional. Her time of 22:09 was just two seconds behind fifth and eight seconds behind fourth. Neely Spence of Shippensburg took the individual title with a time of 20:43. Her teammate Katie Spratford took second, and Shippensburg won the team crown.

Brittney Martin's time of 24:46 put her as Millersville's No. 2 runner and in 74th place. Rebekah Moore placed five seconds and two spots later. Michelle Blum came in one spot behind Moore. Sarah Mulvey placed 84th with a time of 25:12. Megan Meyer was 97th with a time of 25:36, and Jana Richards crossed the line in 27:07, which placed her 134th.

Anderson recieved All-Atlantic Region honors for her efforts.
