Millersville, Pa. – Reigning PSAC East Athlete of the Week
Mashira Newman drained a three-pointer from six feet beyond the arc with 1.9 seconds remaining to keep Millersville unbeaten and propel her squad past Philadelphia 60-57 on Sunday at Pucillo Gymnasium.
Philadelphia (3-2) tied the game at 57-57 with 27 seconds remaining on two made foul shots by Taylor Peltzer. Millersville (3-0), deciding not to take a timeout, inbounded the ball with the opportunity to take the final shot of regulation.

Leola Pinkney, having a career day, kicked the ball out from the post to
Sophia Waters standing left wing. Waters passed the ball up top to Newman, who was standing well beyond the three-point line. With seconds remaining Newman swished the net from to give Millersville a 60-57 lead.
Philadelphia, after calling a timeout to draw up a desperation play with 1.9 seconds remaining, threw the ball the length of the court and out of bounds giving Millersville the ball and the eventual win.
There were seven ties and seven lead changes throughout the game. Philadelphia's largest lead of eight came twice, once in the first half (30-22) and again in the second half (45-37). Millersville trailed at the break by a score of 30-24 and did not regain the lead until five minutes into the second half when it took a 37-35 advantage. The Rams then pulled away until the Marauders tied the game at 52-52 with 1:59 remaining. Millersville took its largest lead at 57-54 with 30 seconds remaining before Philadelphia tied the game for a seventh time.
Pinkney led Millersville with a career-high 15 points, going 6-of-8 from the field—also a career-high. Redshirt junior
Aurielle Mosley collected her third-straight double-double and the 22nd career with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Mosley scored 10 points in the second half.
Gabrielle Styles and Newman also finished in double figures.
Philadelphia's Stephanie Agger led all players with 25 points while going 8-for-16 from the field. Christine Wooding earned her fourth-straight double-double this season.
The Marauders host Gannon (12/3) and Clarion (12/4) for a weekend doubleheader Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4 at Pucillo Gymnasium. Both games are slated for a 1 p.m. tip.
