
Women’s Soccer Falls to West Chester in Season Finale

West Chester, Pa. – Millersville and West Chester exchanged goals to open the first half, but then the Golden Rams scored four unanswered to defeat the Marauders 5-1 on Sunday in the PSAC regular season finale.
West Chester (12-2-4, 8-2-4 PSAC) scored in the ninth minute when Paige Maloney passed the ball over to Melissa McKeary who was closing in on goal. McKeary cross the ball from a hard angle into the upper corner of the goal to give the Golden Rams the 1-0 lead.
Millersville (5-12-1, 3-10-1 PSAC) found a response just three minute later when senior Taylor Suskie fed senior Niki Roberts the ball. Roberts caught the goalie off line from 25 yards out to tie the game at 1-1 just 12 minutes into the game.
The Golden Rams erupted with three more goals in a 19 minute span to close out the first half with a 4-1 lead. West Chester outshot the Marauders 7- 2 in the side.
West Chester found a fifth goal in the 50th minute to push its lead to four goals, up 5-1.
Millersville was unable to find any answers to the Golden Rams' attack. West Chester extended its shot margin to 19-6 in the match.
Sophomore goalkeeper Laura Reed finished the game with six saves.
The Marauders ended their season with a 5-12-1 overall record, including three wins and a tie to collect 10 points in the conference. Millersville did not collect a point on conference in the 2010 season.
