Millersville, Pa. - Millersville trailed Edinboro by 15 points with just under 12 minutes to play Saturday in Pucillo Gymnasium. The Marauders, however, roared from behind with an 18-2 run and captured a hard-fought 68-63 victory.

With the win, Millersville (5-6) earned back-to-back wins for just the second time this year. The home team battled its own shooting woes as much as it did Edinboro (8-5). It hit just 29.4 percent from the field in the first half and struggled in the second half until drilling 10 of its final 14 attempts.

Millersville received clutch performances in the final minutes from newcomers Jaymes Miller, Anthony Coleman, Elijah Obade, Mike Holley and Demond Vance. Every point Millersville scored in the second half was by a first-year player. Miller tallied 11 points and a career-high seven rebounds. Holley added 11 points and six assists, Obade scored 11 of his 12 points in the final 4:23. Vance, who has now scored in double figures in five-straight games, led all scorers with 18. While Coleman scored just seven points, his 5-of-6 shooting from the free throw line was key, and it was his charity shots that jump-started the Marauders' comeback.

With 11:51 remaining, Anthony Lytle sank two free throws to give Edinboro a 54-39 lead--its largest of the game. Coleman knocked down two of his own 46 seconds later. After Miller hit one of two from the line, Coleman buried a jumper to slash Edinboro's lead to 10 with 9:59 remaining.

The Marauders continued to chip away. It started at the defensive end with the Marauders' hounding defense. Vance recorded a couple steals and scored twice, Miller hit for two and Coleman hit 2-of-2 at the line to draw the Marauders within 56-52 with 6:30 left.

Two possessions later, Miller drilled a 17-foot jumper from just inside in the arc. The Marauders denied Edinboro again on its next possession as Obade swatted a Cory Somerville attempt. With 4:23 left, Obade converted a three-point play to give Millersville its first lead of the game, 57-56.

Edinboro received a free throw apiece from Courtney Harden-Pulliam and Somerville, but immediately, Obade struck again. On Edinboro's next offensive trip, Coleman stole the ball and started a fast break that was finished with a strong Obade dunk. That gave the Marauders a 61-58 lead with 2:11 to go. Buckets from Byron Knight and Chris Klimchock were match by scores from Obade and Vance, and Coleman and Obade put the game away by hitting 3-of-4 from the line.

The Marauders hit 15-of-31 shots in the second half but made just 3-of-16 3-pointers in the game. Edinboro, who knocked down 46.4 percent in the first, converted just 9-of-33 in the second.

Senior Bernard Brown contributed a fine defensive performance, totaling 10 rebounds, five blocks and two steals.

The Marauders improved their home record to 5-1 with the victory.

Millersville opens PSAC Eastern Division play Wednesday at Bloomsburg. Game time is 8 p.m.
