Millersville, Pa. - Led by Shane Henry's 11th-place finish, the Millersville men's golf team took eighth at Clarion's Hal Hansen Invitational.
Henry opened with a 74 at the par 72 Clarion Oaks Golf Club and closed with a 5-over-par 77 to finish at 7-over-par for the tournament. He was one of seven golfers at 7-over. Only one player--Clarion's Jared Schmader--shot under par. Schmader won medalist honors at 5-under-par.
As a team, the Marauders opened with a 307, which put them in fourth place after the first round. Millersville, however, faltered with a team score of 314 in the second round, placing it 26 strokes behind winner Indiana (Pa.).
Sophomore Matt Dudas placed tie for 26th after shooting back-to-back rounds of 5-over-par. Brian Cooper placed in a tie for 46th at 14-over. George Trosley finished one shot behind Cooper in a tie for 51st, and Nick Magenta placed in a tie for 56th.
Millersville travels to West Lafayette, Ohio on Sept. 20-21 to compete in the Powerade Fall Collegiate.
