Millersville, Pa. – Sophomores Elicia Anderson and Rebekah Moore were honored with additional postseason awards Friday, being named to the 2009-10 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's All-Academic Track and Field Team. The pair was also named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic cross country team in the fall.
A record total of 276 student-athletes representing 72 institutions composed the group this year. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event.
The honor marks the third time Anderson has been recognized for her efforts with the team and in the classroom. She also earned PSAC Scholar-Athlete accolades the past two track and field seasons. At the 2010 PSAC Outdoor Championships, Anderson led the Marauder women with three top-five finishes in distance events.
Moore notched her second postseason track honor after being named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete for the 2010 track and field season. She landed an NCAA provisional time in the 10,000-meter run when she finished fifth at the conference championships this season.
