Daniels, W.Va. - The Millersville men's golf team found itself tied for 16th out of 20 teams after one round of play at the at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional. The good news for the Marauders, though, is that they are only 15 shots out of an NCAA Championships qualifying spot with two rounds left to play.
The teams competing at the Resort at Glade Springs are the best 20 from six different conferences in the Atlantic and East Regions. Millersville entered the field as the seventh-ranked team from the Atlantic Region, so the Marauders knew they would need outstanding play to finish in the top five and qualify for the NCAA Championships for just the second time in school history.

Fellow sophomore Brian Cooper struggled at the turn, going 4-over-par on holes eight, nine and 10. He showed resolve, however, stringing together five-straight pars to finish at 7-over-par.
Redshirt freshman Matt Dudas matched Cooper's 79, and he played the final 15 holes in 3-over-par after starting bogey, bogey, double bogey.
Nick Magenta birdied twice, but shot an 84, putting him in 94th. In his first regional competition, Dan Brown posted an 88, tying him for 101st.
