West Chester, Pa. - The Millersville women's golf team--still in its infancy--continued its steady improvement Monday at the Edwin Cottrell Invitational.
Junior Victoria Hess turned in the best round of her young career, slashing 14 strokes off of her first round score for a 97. Hess finished the tournament with a two-round total of 208 and in a tie for 19th.
Nicole Wille placed 26th after duplicating her first round 118. Sarah Weiss was seven strokes better in round two. She finished with a 241 total and in 28th place.
With just three golfers, Millersville was ineligible for a team score. Concord took the team crown with a 679 total. Mercyhurst's Evann Parker, who led by one after the first round, edged Concord's Nicole Shaw by one shot as both closed with a 10-over-par 81.
The Marauders travel to Kutztown for the Kutztown Invitational on April 16 and 17.
