Strong Second Round at IUP Invitational Propels Men's Golf to Third Place

Indiana, Pa. - The Millersville men's golf team duplicated its first round score of 298 Tuesday afternoon and moved up one place in the standings of the IUP Invitiational, finishing third in a deep field of 17 teams.
Three Marauders finished in the top 15. Shane Henry, who closed the first round one stroke off the lead, could not match his day one score, but his 5-over-par 76 put him 4-over-par and in a tie for 10th.
Sophomore Brian Cooper and Nick Magenta both climbed up the leaderboard and into the top 15. Magenta shot an even-par round to finish tied for 14th. One of the players tied with Magenta was Cooper, who slashed three strokes off his day one score and fired a 1-over-par 72 Tuesday.
Dan Brown placed in a tie for 46th and Matt Dudas tied for 74th in the 87-player field.
Medalist honors went to IUP's Gavin Floyd, whose second round 67 put him at 4-under for the tournament.
IUP also took the team crown with a 566 total. Concord placed second at 580. Millersville's 596 edged Adelphi by one stroke.
Millersville travels to Anapolis, Md., on April 17-18 for the Navy Spring Invitational.
