Registration and Information
Millersville, Pa. - The Millersville women's swimming team, led by head coach Kyle Almoney, has announced the dates for three spring swimming clinics.
Among the clinics are the Spring/Summer Swim Lesson and Stroke Clinic program, the Spring Stroke Clinic and the Sunday Spring Stroke Clinic.
The Spring/Summer Swim Lesson is led by Almoney and Jillian Almoney, who has served as a coach in Lancaster County. It is designed to help build confidence in non-swimmers. One major goal is for the non-swimmer to be comfortable around and later enjoy the water. There are several different skill levels depending on the age and ability of the swimmer and each skill level receives specific instruction.
This clinic is broken up into three sessions. Session I ranges from April 12-22. Session II runs from April 27-May 6. Spring III is conducted from May 10-20. The clinic begins each day at 5 p.m.
The Spring Stroke Clinic is for swimmers of all abilities. The clinic features both in water and on land demonstration as well as individual and group teaching. Each week, swimmers will work on a specific stroke and will also work on starts, turns and other racing tips. Sessions are for ages 6-11 and 12-18 years old and will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from April 26-May 21.
The Sunday Spring Stroke Clinic will run for three hours every Saturday afternoon beginning on April 25 and running until May 16. Each week, the instructors will focus on a different stroke. It is open for 7-18 year old swimmers.
