
Frayne Claims Top Honors in Heptathlon

Friday's Results
Charlotte, N.C. – After four first-place finishes in the two-day competition, Michele Frayne captured top honors in the heptathlon with an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 4459 points at the 49er Classic Friday. This marks Frayne's first completed heptathlon of the season.
Friday, Frayne earned first in the javelin, throwing a distance of 36.91 meters, and tied for first in the long jumjp, clearing 5.23 meters. She also placed fourth in the 800-meter run. Her total was 534 points ahead of the second-place finisher, Ashli Knotts from West Virginia Wesleyan. Jess Rhyner finished 10th in the event with 3,032 points.
In a fight-to-the-finish race, Elicia Anderson took home second in the 5,000-meter clocking in at 17:29.97. She finished just .13 seconds behind USC Upstate's Jemeli Sange and landed Anderson an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Emily Francisco placed 11th in 18:00.13.
On the field, Grace Tancredi claimed 18th in the hammer throw hitting a distance of 35.88 meters.
Zac Kohler and Jack Scanlin finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in the decathlon. Kohler finished with 5,591 points and Scanlin totaled 5,356.
Keith Ogden took home sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 54.63. He also placed 13th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.02 seconds. Derrick Bass came in 15th in 11.09 followed by Anthony Adamski in 18th with a time of11.16.
Bass jumped a distance of 6.77 meters to land a sixth-place finish in the long jump.
Off the track, Avery Webster cleared 47.77 meters in the hammer throw to place seventh.
