Philadelphia – A club famous for its stifling defense, the Millersville women's basketball team caused 15 Philadelphia turnovers and pulled down 20 defensive rebounds en route to a 60-57 non-conference victory over the Rams Sunday afternoon. The Marauders picked up their first road win of the season and opened with a 4-0 mark for the fourth consecutive year.
The Rams (1-2) suffered their first home defeat of the season and recorded their second-straight loss to a PSAC team after falling to West Chester earlier this week.
MIllersville entered halftime down 31-29 after Philadelphia's Stephanie Agger buzzer-beater to take a lead. But the Marauders entered the second half with their defense swarming. MU held the Rams scoreless for the first 4:29 of action and instigated four-straight missed layups to jump to a 35-31 lead.
The clubs were back on the see-saw after Philadelphia found a wide open layup and halted the Marauders' march. The teams saw an incredible 15 lead changes and 10 tie scores throughout action.

Aurielle Mosley made a basket off of a foul and connected for a three-point play to take a 54-50 lead. With few options remaining and the clock winding down, Philadelphia was forced to foul and
Mashira Newman extended the lead to six after knocking down a pair free throws.
The Rams put up two layups and a three-pointer in the final 50 seconds, but a combination of three makes from the charity stripe by
Sophia Waters and Newman helped Millersville hold onto the game and remained undefeated.

Aurielle Mosley swiped away two shots, grabbed a game-high in rebounds and put up 13 points as she recorded her third double-double in four contests.
Newman scored a game and season-high 23 points for MU, netting 21 of her points in the second half alone. She finished 9-of-11 from behind the free throw line and pulled down four rebounds.
The Marauders take a break from competition and return Thursday, Dec. 9 for the first game of a doubleheader. Millersville hosts University of the Sciences in Pucillo Gymnasium at 6 p.m.
