Erie, Pa. – The Millersville men's soccer team entered today's game needing a win to keep its PSAC playoff hopes alive. The Marauders did just that with an impressive second half to beat the Golden Knights of Gannon 4-1 Friday afternoon.
Millersville (9-4-1, 4-3-0 PSAC) started the match strong, recording a 15-6 advantage in shots in the first half. Marauder goalkeeper Matt Langione only had to make three saves in the first session.
Senior Shane Seabrook broke the 0-0 tie in the 42nd minute to put Millersville up, 1-0. Gannon (11-5, 4-3 PSAC) found an answer less than a minute later on a goal by Sean Washek. Washek found the back of the net on a pass from teammate Ross Matthews to send the game into the half knotted at 1-1.
The Marauders came out inspired in the second half as they netted three more goals. Junior Aaron Roland gave Millersville its lead back in the 65th minute when he headed in a corner from Pat Baffuto. Roland's goal was his fifth of the season and third in the last two contests.
Baffuto had some magic of his own when he found the back of the net two minutes later on a pass from Kyle Loughlin to extend the Marauder lead to, 3-1. Baffuto finished the contest with a game-high six shots.
Freshman Sean Strangeway scored his first goal on the season in the 78th minute to put Millersville up 4-1 as it ran away with a vital victory in PSAC play this afternoon. The Marauders finished their impressive performance with 17 shots on goal.
The Marauders now have 12 points in the PSAC standings which puts them in a four-way tie for third with Slippery Rock, Gannon, and Mercyhurst. Millersville only holds a tie-breaker over Gannon, but can earn one over the Lakers with a win tomorrow in another crucial PSAC contest at Mercyhurst.  Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
