
East Stroudsburg Nips Marauders in Final Seconds

Millersville, Pa. - Through 83 minutes of action, the Millersville women's soccer team was on its way to its third victory of the season. But in the final seven minutes, East Stroudsburg overcame a one-goal deficit and handed the Marauders a 3-2 loss at home Wednesday evening.
Trailing 2-1, ESU (7-4-1, 3-3-1 PSAC East) knotted the game at 83:13 when Jessica Oliva scored on a header off a Megan Keiser corner kick. Millersville failed to take a shot of the rest of the way, and with just 28 seconds left on the clock, Lindsay Foder scored to give East Stroudsburg the victory.
East Stroudsburg put a constant and steady pressure on keeper Taylor Suskie. Suskie stopped nine of the 12 shots fired on goal including five in a row to start the second half.
East Stroudsburg struck first, but Millersville managed to build a lead thanks to a pair of first half goals. Allison Snyder, who led the team with four shots, scored her first goal of the season on a free kick from 30 yards at 34:56. Jenna Gould also found the back of the net for the first time this season when she scored off Niki Robert's assist.
Millersville was out-shot 22-13, and Michelle Ginn stopped made four saves for the Warriors.
Millersville fell to 2-9 overall and 1-5 in PSAC East action with the loss. The team returns to action Saturday in a non-conference contest against Elizabethtown at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
