Millersville, Pa. - On Sept. 26, the Millersville University football team will participate in the nation-wide charity project of the American Football Coaches Association, “Coach to Cure MD.”
Coaches from across the country in all levels of collegiate football will come together to raise awareness and funding for research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a prolific genetic killer diagnosed in childhood. At the game, coaches will wear a “Coach to Cure MD” patch on their sleeves, and fans will be asked to donate to research supported by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.
Buckets will be placed at the entrance to the Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium on Saturday for Marauder fans to donate any amount of money to PPMD. It is the largest nonprofit organization in the U.S. focused solely on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
All football fans can donate to MD research by going online to
www.CoachtoCureMD.org or texting the word “CURE” to 90999. A $5 donation will automatically appear in your next phone bill, and standard text messaging rates apply.
