Millersville, Pa. — The No. 3 Millersville men's soccer team allowed no goals for the fourth straight time and got second half goals from Pat Baffuto and Todd Grimm in a 2-0 non-conference win over Molloy College on Saturday night at Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium.

It was a struggle for the Marauder (5-0) offense early on against an unfamiliar opponent. Millersville generated six shots over the first 45 minutes, but most of those came in the latter stages of the half. Molloy (2-3-1) was solid in containing the Marauders in the opening frame as both squads went through a feeling out process.

The Marauders defense was strong all evening, but it was Molloy who got the first great scoring chance of the game in the 14th minute. Mike Adamcewicz was able to slip through the defense, ending up with a partial breakaway, but Millersville keeper Matt Langione got just enough of Adamcewicz's chip shot to deflect it wide of the goal.

John-Paul Hughes almost gave the visitors a lead again in the 53rd minute. Hughes shot off of a free kick wrapped towards the upper right corner of the net, but caught the crossbar and the game remained scoreless. Kyle Loughlin then came within a whisker of putting the Marauders on the board as his one-touch shot was just high in the 58th minute.

Baffuto broke the 0-0 deadlock in the 60th minute on a great individual effort. The second-year player was able to chip the ball around Molloy goalkeeper Carlos Barros and then fire it from the left side of the box into a wide open net. The goal was Baffuto's third of the season and ended up being his second game-winner. Freshman Adam Keller picked up his second assist of the season on the goal.

Millersville would get an insurance goal in the 75th minute, as a Loughlin cross found the head of Grimm, who was charging to the left post. The junior deposited the ball past Barros for the first goal of his career. The assist by Loughlin was his team-leading fourth.

Langione made two saves on the evening, but his big first half save was a momentum changer. Langione and the Marauders have not allowed a goal in the last 368:12, which includes the final 8:12 of the season-opening win against Philadelphia. The 2009 Marauders are just the second team in the soccer program's 50-season history to record four consecutive shutouts. The 2003 team holds the record with seven straight clean sheets.

Much like last season, the Marauders are off to a fast start. The squad will look to run its record to 6-0 for the second straight season on Wednesday afternoon as they travel to Wilmington (Del.) to take on the No. 16 Wildcats. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
