Millersville, Pa. - After falling 7-1 in the opener of Saturday's PSAC Eastern Division doubleheader, the Millersville baseball team bounced back with a 6-2 victory in game two, earning a split for the afternoon and keeping its season record above .500.

Millersville's (22-21, 8-12) game two win was sparked by a five-run fourth inning in which Andrew Dochterman and Cody Wile each drove in a run and Scott Slembecker added a two-run triple.

Dochterman led the team with two doubles in the game. His first double came in the second, and he gave Millersville a 1-0 lead by scoring a Keith Spencer sacrifice fly.

With a 6-0 lead to work with, Derek Kline (3-2) cruised. He went the distance, allowing two runs--both in the fifth--on six hits. He also struck out two and did not walk a batter.

The win kept Millersville's PSAC Tournament hopes alive, as it dropped Mansfield to 8-12 in the league as well. Along with East Stroudsburg, there is now a three-way tie for the final playoff spot with one weekend series remaining.

Mansfield's victory in the opener came on the arm of starter Eric Rosenberger, who pitched a complete game and held a hot-hitting Marauders team to just four hits. Rosenberger also blanked Kline, halting his 11-game hitting streak.

The usually steady Forrest Mengle (5-3) worked two perfect innings before Mansfield connected for seven runs on seven hits in the third. Mengle's day ended through 2.2 innings.

All of Mansfield's scoring, however, came in that third inning, as Michael Mesveskas limited the Mountaineers to just one hit in 3.1 innings of relief.

McCormick, who went 1-for-3 in the game, drove in Millersville's only run with a single in the third.

The Marauders travel to Wilmington Tuesday for a non-conference contest. On Friday, they host Kutztown in the home finale.
