DeShong Ties for Second; Marauders Take Fifth

Indiana, Pa. - Senior Darryn DeShong fired a final round 3-under-par 68 to finish tied for second at the IUP-Cecil Spadafora Invitational held at the par 71 Indiana Country Club. As a team, the Marauders finished fifth out of 17 teams.
The Marauders entered the second round in second place and just six strokes off the leader, Concord. DeShong's 68 tied for the best round of the day and finished at two under for the tournament, but the rest of the squad could not keep pace. The Marauders shot a 296 total--only one shot higher than the first round--but the four teams that finished above them went lower.
It was DeShong's best finish of the year. Chris Orlando shot a 3-over-par 74 to finish at seven over for the tournament and in 20th place. Ben Rowe finished one shot back in a tie for 24th.
Shane Henry slipped down the leader board with an 80, and while Nick Magenta improved his day two score by two shots, he placed in a tie for 54th.
The Marauders travel to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Invitational on April 18.
