Millersville, Pa. - A new era at Millersville University got underway Wednesday as the women's golf team, in its first year of intercollegiate competition, played its first round at Crossgates Golf Club in Millersville.
Victoria Hess, Nicole Wille, Amanda Mitchell and Sarah Weiss formed Millersville's four-person squad. Three of the four golfers finished, leaving Millersville without a team score, but Hess was the team's low golfer on the day.
She shot a 113 to finish 11th in the 16-player field. Millersville's competition was Franklin & Marshall and West Chester. F&M boasted three of the top five finishers, but West Chester won the tri-match by one shot with a 90-over-par 378.
