ABOUT THE GAMES
- Millersville opens 2009 with a pair of measuring stick games. Both Indiana (Pa.) and California (Pa.) roll into Pucillo Gymnasium with a top-10 national ranking. The Marauders are looking to avenge last season's combined 0-4 record against their PSAC West division foes. No. 8 Indiana (Pa.) visits Millersville to open the weekend. The Marauders and Crimson Hawks are scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m. on Saturday. No. 5 California (Pa.) then comes to call on Sunday afternoon. Game time against the Vulcans is also slated for 1 p.m.
- The Marauders have rebounded nicely since dropping their first game of the season against Florida Southern back on Dec. 17, 2008. Millersville responded just a day later with a hard-fought 55-44 win over Saint Leo (Fla.) in Lakeland, Fla. before a 12-day hiatus. The Marauders came back strong from the lay-off, earning another 11-point victory in a 65-54 triumph at Philadelphia University on Dec. 30, 2008.
- Indiana (Pa.) enters this weekend's match-up with the Marauders on a four game winning streak and an 8-1 record overall. The Crimson Hawks are getting the job done on both ends of the court, but it all starts with their defense. Indiana (Pa.) is allowing the fewest points per game in the PSAC at 46.7. The Crimson Hawks are also outscoring their opponents by over 24 points per game, the highest margin in the PSAC.
- California (Pa.) split a pair of games in the Bahamas before the holidays. The Vulcans suffered a 63-61 loss against Fayetteville State (N.C) their last time out. California (Pa.) ranks second in the PSAC in scoring offense, putting up 78.6 points per game. The Vulcans showed their scoring prowess in the season opener, a 117-36 drubbing of Salem International. California (Pa.) also scored 94 at Pitt-Johnstown on Dec. 2 and has scored 80+ points in a game twice this season.

WE MEET AGAIN
- Millersville faced off against Indiana (Pa.) just once last season, dropping a 68-54 decision on the road. Gladine St. Julien paced the Marauders in that game with 14 points and seven rebounds. Raquel Green came off the bench to record 11 rebounds in the defeat. Indiana (Pa.) got a balanced scoring effort, which saw three players finish in double digits, led by Jahzinga Tracey's 14.
- The Marauders would probably like to forget last season's trio of meetings with California (Pa.). Millersville was 0-3 against the Vulcans, dropping a home game in mid-December and back-to-back games in the PSAC Tournament in March. California (Pa.) beat Millersville by an average of 11.3 points per game in the three contests.

THE LAST TIME OUT
- Millersville improved to 8-1 on the season by securing a 65-54 victory at Philadelphia University on Dec. 30, 2008. The Marauders got a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) from Gladine St. Julien, while Jenna Philo chipped in 13. Raquel Green came off the bench and posted 11 points.
- Millersville took a slim 31-28 lead to the locker room, but slowly pulled away from Philadelphia U. in the second half. The Marauders never trailed in the second half. Philadelphia U. got a game-high 21 points from Jessica Romano in the loss.

MARAUDER MILESTONES
- Millersville's women's basketball program began in 1918 and since then, it has compiled 691 wins, leaving it just nine victories shy of 700 all-time wins. Under Fleig, the Marauders have compiled almost half of those victories with 331.
- The women's team will look to extend its 14-game PSAC Eastern Division winning streak when it travels to West Chester on January 14 for the East opener.
- Last season, coach Fleig won her 300th game at Millersville in the season opener, an 81-38 thrashing of Alderson-Broaddus in the MU Tipoff Classic.

EARLY EXPECTATIONS
- After posting a 24-6 overall record and a perfect 12-0 mark in the PSAC East a year ago, the Marauders were pegged to finish second by the coaches in the PSAC Preseason Poll.
- Picked to finish first in the Eastern Division in 2008 is the division's newest member, Shippensburg. Shippensburg made the switch to the East after the realignment of the PSAC to accomodate the additions of Gannon and Mercyhurst to the Western Division. Shippensburg qualified for the PSAC playoffs last season as the fourth seed out of the very competitive Western Division. All-American and Western Division Athlete of the Year Lauren Beckley heads a Lady Raider team that has reached the playoffs in 13 of the past 14 seasons.
- West Chester, who qualified for the PSAC playoffs last season as the second seed, finished the season at 9-3 in the division and is picked to finish one spot behind Millersville in third. Kutztown, who won just four games in the division last year, is picked fourth while East Stroudsburg is fifth.
- Forward Gladine St. Julien, an All-PSAC Eastern Divsion First Team selection last season, was named to the 2008 Preseason All-PSAC East Team.

POWER FORWARD
- Forward Gladine St. Julien stepped up in a huge way last season after the loss of PreseasonAll-PSAC selection Ashley Romanoski due to injury. St. Julien led the Marauders in scoring average (12.5) and was second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.7 rebounds per game.
- St. Julien was honored as the PSAC Eastern Division Athlete of the Week three times last season.
- St. Julien poured in a career-high 22 points on December 18, in the first of three losses on the season to California (Pa.). She matcher her career high on February 23 in a four-point victory over East Stroudsburg.
- The 6-0 forward scored in double figures in 21 of the team's 30 games last season and managed four double-doubles. St. Julien led the Marauders in scoring 13 times and rebounding 11 times.

BREAKING RECORDS
- In the season-opening 101-30 victory over Columbia Union, the Marauders eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. In that season the Marauders ironically knocked off the same team (Columbia Union) by a score of 102-52.
 - The 101-point effort was helped in large part to the 60 first-half points scored by the Marauders which broke the school record of 54 set by the 1992-93 team in a lopsided win over Holy Family.
- The 71-point margin of victory also broke the school record set by the 1992-93 team that defeated Cheyney by a final score of 94-28.
