Millersville Golf Finishes Eighth at Hal Hansen Invitational

Clarion, Pa. - The Millersville men's golf team shot a 302 total on the second day of competition to climb to an eight-place team finish in a field of 18 at the Hal Hansen Invitational held at the par 72 Clarion Oaks Golf Club in Clarion, Pa.
The Marauders opened the event with a team total of 314 on Sunday, but rebounded on Monday to finish with a two-round total of 616 and just one shot out of a tie for sixth place with West Liberty and Fairmont State. Ohio Valley took home the team crown with rounds of 300 and 294, finishing seven shots better than host Clarion.
Senior Darryn DeShong and #Brian Cooper# led the Marauders with two-round totals of 8-over-par 152, placing them in an eight-way tie for 13th. Trent Coldren turned in an 11-over-par 155 to place 27th. Shane Henry finished tied for 42nd and Scott Oste placed 73rd.
Millersville returns to the course on Sept. 22 at the Wheeling Jesuit Invitational.
