Jennings Sets New 3,000 Meter School Record at PSAC East Meet

JENNINGS SETS NEW 3,000-METER SCHOOL RECORD AT PSAC EAST MEET
April 5 – Priscilla Jennings (jr. Solanco HS) set a new school record in taking first place in the 3,000-meter race at the PSAC East Challenge in West Chester .
Jennings' time of 9:55 was 34 seconds better than the second-place finisher and two-tenths of a second faster than Erin Carey, who had set the previous school record 12 years ago. It also qualified her for the NCAA meet to be held May 23-25.
Jennings – an All-American – now has at least a share of six indoor and outdoor Millersville University track and field records. For indoor, Jennings owns school records in the 800, mile, 3200-meter relay and distance medley relay. Jennings also owns a share of the outdoor record 1600-meter relay.
In team competition, the women's squad posted 49 points to place fifth out of seven teams while the men's squad tallied 48 points to finish sixth out of seven teams.
Derrick Bass (so. York Suburban HS) won the men's long jump with a distance of 6.74 meters. 0.24 better than the second-place finisher.
Brittney Zuver (so. Central York HS) placed second in the 800- (222.26) and 1500-meter (4:48.88) races.
The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will resume competition Friday at both the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg , Pa. and the West Chester Invite. Both are two-day events.
