West Chester , Pa. – The West Chester women's volleyball team recorded its fourth straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division victory and remained one game out of first place after knocking off visiting Millersville, 3-1, Tuesday night inside Hollinger Field House.
Millersville (5-15, 1-7 PSAC East) fell to West Chester (17-6, 7-1 PSAC East) for the second time this season. The Rams won by a 3-1 decision at Millersville back on September 5.
The Marauders came out strong in the opening set but fell by a tight 25-23 margin. A strong effort by the Rams Lisa Yeasted helped the home team to a 25-9 victory in set two to put Millersville in an 0-2 hole.
MU did not go down without a fight though as the team responded and squeaked out a 25-23 victory in the third set before finally falling in the fourth by a 25-17 final.
Millersville remains in sixth place in the Eastern Division with four divisional match-ups remaining. The team will make their first appearance in nearly three weeks at home this Saturday when they take on East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. East Stroudsburg defeated Millersville back on September 12 in a heated five-setter.
Saturday's contest will also feature Millersville volleyball's Dig for a Cure Night when the team will sponsor the breast cancer awareness program to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
