Redshirt freshman Mashira Newman helped the women's basketball team to two convincing PSAC Crossover victories last week by averaging 13 points, four rebounds and four assists per game. Against Slippery Rock, Newman tied for game-high honors with 16 points, hit all 11 of her free throws and recorded five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. She followed that performance with 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals against Mercyhurst.
