Why did you choose Millersville?
It is close to home. Also, I was really excited to play soccer in college and felt like Millersville was a good fit for me. Also, I knew I made a good choice in choosing Millersville when I was given the opportunity to also be a part of the track and field team. In all, the atmosphere and athletics played a role in why I chose Millersville.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose a biology major because after graduation I would like to pursue a career in the medical field, and a biology degree gives me a good backbone as I continue my education after graduation.
What is your favorite memory as a Millersville student-athlete?
One of my favorite memories so far on the track team is running the second leg on the 4x400 relay team at the PSAC Championship and winning the race, which pushed our team to finish in second place overall. One of my favorite memories from soccer is this past season playing in the NCAA Tournament. It was really neat to accomplish something so big with such a great group.
What is one piece of advice you would give to aspiring athletes?
Your success and failures mainly occur through the choices you make. There is no excuse to not work hard, and working harder than the person next to you will give you that extra edge you need when they might have more given talent. In my experience, hard work beats talent.
What is one of your pregame rituals?
I eat pickles before every single soccer game.
What is one word you would use to describe being part of your team?
For both soccer and track I would use blessed. It is a blessing to be a part of two great groups and be around individuals who have that same drive and passion for the sport. I am blessed to be a part of my teams, because I know not everyone gets the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level, let alone be a part of two amazing teams that have turned my teammates into another family.
What do you normally do on your off days, if you get any?
If I have a day off I normally catch up on TV shows or watch movies with my family, as well as catch up on school work.
How has participating in athletics at Millersville impacted you?
It has taught me a lot so far that will help me throughout my life. It not only has taught me lessons but it has become a place where I can be stress free and enjoy myself outside of the academic aspect. Participating in athletics has taught me the big lesson that you get out what you put in and that most of your successes and failures comes from the decisions you make.
What is a typical day for you when you are in-season?
Being a dual sport athlete I am pretty much “in season” all year round. So I drive to school every morning, because I commute, and go through all my classes, then I finish off my day with practice, soccer in the fall and track in the winter and spring. I end every night at home eating a home cooked meal, which is a perk of commuting.
What is the best thing about being a student-athlete at Millersville?
It is like having another family. The culture is so fun to be around not only within my sports, but all the sports across the board. All the teams and athletic departments are supportive of one another as much as they can be, which is a really cool atmosphere to be around.
If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Lukaku from Manchester United because I think his name is fun to say.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
I’m a sucker for any throwback Chris Brown song.
