Chelsey Wirth

Millersville University alumna Chelsey Wirth '15 joined the athletics department in February of 2020 taking on the newly-created role of assistant director of athletics fundraising and revenue generation. She was elevated to the position of director of athletics advancement in 2023. 

Wirth is responsible for cultivating major gifts, fulfilling corporate sponsorships, coordinating Black & Gold Club initiatives and hosting special events. In support of athletics, Wirth helped increase the annual One Day Give fundraising total by $50,000 in her first year, and then broke the department record the following year, as athletics raised more than $334,000 in a single day. She has been instrumental in the establishment of 41 named annual award scholarships and two endowed scholarships for student-athletes. 

Wirth assists with more than 40 engagement events annually, including Homecoming, alumn days, and golf tournaments. She helped launch the hospitality area at home football games for athletic alumni and supporters, enhancing the gameday experience. She also serves as the co-advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. 

Wirth came to Millersville after serving as the coordinator of fundraising for StoneRidge Retirement Living Communities in Myerstown, Pa. She also previously served as marketing coordinator for Downtown Mechanicsburg Partnership, director of development for Youth Education in the Arts and as advancement and giving specialist for Penn State Health. There, she managed a peer-to-peer fundraising portfolio of more than $2 million. 

Wirth graduated from Millersville in 2015 with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and psychology. She also completed a master's degree in public health from the Penn State College of Medicine in 2020.
