Herb Harris enters his seventh year as a volunteer assistant coach for Fred Thompson's men's basketball program in 2013-14.
Harris first joined the staff for the 2003-04 season. The following season, he helped Millersville to a 22-8 record, a PSAC Tournament runner-up finish and a NCAA Tournament appearance.
After several years away from the program because of illness, Harris rejoined the staff in 2009-10. In 2012-13, Millersville reached the PSAC Quarterfinals with a 19-11 record. Elijah Obade was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year and set the school record for blocks in a season.
Before assisting Thompson, Harris guided three different teams to Keystone State Games gold medals. He coached a team to the 2000 title and then his girls' team captured the crown in 2003 and 2005.
Harris and his wife, Patricia, are the parents of two daughters: Jilsel and Jade.
